McNeill Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team

The redshirt junior becomes the second player in EMU Soccer history to earn the honor in back-to-back seasons
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University redshirt junior Sabrina McNeill (Whitby, Ontario-Henry Street) was named to the All-Midwest Region Third Team by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced, Dec. 2.
After becoming the first Eagle to win All-Region honors since 2013 a season ago, McNeill becomes just the second player in EMU Soccer history to earn All-Region honors in back-to-back seasons, following Tracy Deeter in 1999 and 2000.
Starting all 22 matches for Eastern Michigan, the Whitby, Ont. native tallied seven goals and one assist for 15 points in 1,710 minutes of play. In the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament, the redshirt junior eclipsed the 50 career points mark, becoming the 11th Eagle in program history to record at least 50 points in her career. McNeill also garnered MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and All-MAC First Team honors for the 2019 season.
The Eagles finished the 2019 season with an 8-11-3 record and runner-up finish in the MAC Tournament, making their first apperance in the tournament championship game since 2008.
