HOME OPEN SUCCESS: Eastern has been unstoppable in home openers since the turn of the decade, going a perfect 20-0 since the 2000-01 season. EMU used an Autumn Hudson double-double to propel itself to a 95-38 win over Olivet to open the 2019-20 home schedule, Nov. 8.

SCORING ALL AROUND: Eleven different Eagles recorded at least one score against Olivet, Nov. 8. That number, a season-best, tops the nine-Eagle scoring parade against Michigan State, Nov. 5.

BACK TO WORK ON THE BOARDS: After leading EMU in rebounding (173) in 2018-19, junior Autumn Hudson has picked up right where she left off to start the 2019-20 campaign. She notched a team-best six boards against Michigan State, Nov. 5, before collecting a contest-best 12 against Olivet, Nov. 8. Hudson has led EMU in single-game rebounding 10 times in her career.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE: Junior center Autumn Hudson was impressive against Olivet, Nov. 8, registering her second-career double-double. She notched 10 points and a team-leading 12 boards against the Comets. Hudson has now led EMU in rebounding in both games this season, and 10 times in her career.

DISHIN' DIMES: Sophomore guard Jenna Annecchiarico had a pass-first mentality against Olivet, Nov. 8. The Baldwin, N.Y. native dished out a career-high eight assists against the Comets, while also contributing nine points, one block, and one assist.

BEST ON THE BOARDS: EMU has dominated its opponents on the boards through its first two contests of the 2019 season. As a team, the Eagles are out-rebounding their opponents by a margin of 44.5 per game to 37.0 per game. Eastern has also outpaced opponents in offensive rebounding, edging its competition, 30-23, through two games.

CONSISTENT ON THE COURT: Seven different Eagles are shooting better-than 50 percent from the floor this season. Redshirt sophomore Juanita Agosto leads the way with a .750 field-goal percentage. As a team, the Eagles are shooting .420 from the floor this season.

IMPROVEMENT AT THE LINE: EMU looks to be an improved squad at the free throw line, a trend that will need to continue if it hopes to capture a MAC title. Last season, the Eagles shot just .586 from the charity stripe. Through two games this season, the Green and White are at .590, with four players shooting better than 60 percent from the line.

TAKING THE ROCK AWAY: After forcing 16.7 turnovers per game a season ago, Eastern looks poised to be pesky on the defensive end of the court yet again in 2019-20. EMU has forced  44 turnovers, including 19 swipes this season. Most recently, EMU stole 12 passes against Olivet, Nov. 8.

UTILIZING DEPTH: Depth is a term Fred Castro has consistently used to describe his 2019-20 squad. The depth of his bench has been on display thus far, as all-11 players that have been active in the season's first two games have found court time. Against Olivet, Nov. 8, every player scored.

ALL-TIME VS. YOUNGSTOWN STATE: The Eagles and Penguins will battle for the seventh time when they meet at the Beeghly Center, Nov. 16. Eastern holds a 4-2 all-time advantage over the Guins, most recently defeating YSU, 69-48, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Convocation Center.

ALL THE LEAGUES EMU WILL FACE: The Eagles will play teams hailing from eight different Division I conferences this season. In addition to its 18-game Mid-American Conference slate, EMU will face three Horizon League members, two teams from the Big Ten Conference, as well as one opponent from the Missouri Valley Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, America East Conference, American Athletic Conference, and Summit League.

ON THE HORIZON: Following their trip to Ohio, the Eagles return home to begin a three-game homestand. EMU hosts Southeast Missouri State, Nov. 19, Southern Illinois, Nov. 23, and Michigan, Nov. 27.
