Eagles Head to Pennsylvania for Paul Short Run

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Saturday, Oct. 5.
Ranked seventh in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region entering this weekend's race, EMU will be joined by one nationally-ranked opponent at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, as No. 27 Princeton headlines the 44-team field. The Eagles are the only Mid-American Conference program to take part in the 6K event.
EMU returns to action after finishing in 7th place with a team total of 212 points at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, Sept. 20. Graduate student Natalie Cizmas (Clinton, Twp., Mich.-Chippewa Valley), redshirt senior Emily Smith (Somerset, England-Wells Cathedral School), and senior Karlie Swanson (New South Wales, Australia-Bellingen) all finished the 5K race in the top-20 with times of 17:43, 17:45, and 17:47, respectively. Additionally, four runners competed at Wayne State University's Warrior Classic, Sept. 21, where sophomore Emily DeLine (Newport, Mich.-Airport) took second place in the 6K event with a time of 22:55.2.
The Green and White will compete in the Women's Gold 6K race at 11:45 a.m.
