YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team returns to action at Lehigh University's Paul Short Run Saturday, Oct. 5 in Bethlehem, Pa.

"This trip will mark the first time in EMU history to be competing in the 46th annual Paul Short Invitational and the team is looking forward to racing on this storied course," said head coach John Goodridge.

After a week with no competition, the Eagles are set to make their debut at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, which staged the 1979, 1983, and 1993 NCAA National Cross Country Championships and will host the 2019 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, Nov. 15. EMU will be joined by a pair of programs ranked in the USTFCCCA's top-30, as No. 23 Iona and No. 29 Villanova highlight the 45-team field along with Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo and Big Ten Conference opponent Minnesota.

Last time out, the Eagles earned a sixth-place finish at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., with a team total of 196 points. Sophomore Baldvin Magnusson (Hull, England-Hull University) paced the Green and White in the 8K event, finishing 25th overall with a time of 25:00.3.
