Men's Golf to Compete at Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team continues its 2018 fall schedule with the Firestone Invitational, Oct. 1-2, at the Firestone Country Club-North Course.
The 17-team tournament includes: Akron, Illinois State, Ball State, Mount St. Mary's, Cleveland State, Ohio, Connecticut, Old Dominion, Dayton, South Carolina Aiken, Dartmouth, Temple, Eastern Michigan, William & Mary, Furman, Winthrop, and Youngstown State
The course will be set up as a par 72, playing a distance of 7,125 yards. It will consist of 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 1, and 18 holes Tuesday, Oct. 2. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on both days, with the second round played immediately following the conclusion of the first round on Monday.
Eastern last competed in the event in 2016 as Kyle Rodes fired a 54-hole tally of 209 to finish in a tie for the runner-up spot. Rodes carded rounds of 69, 71 and 69 to finish four shots behind Cincinnati's Austin Squires at 11-under par 205. As a team, the Eagles finished the final round with a 294 in fifth-place at two-under par.
Taking part in the tournament for EMU will be sophomore Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic), senior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland), junior Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin), sophomore Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary), and sophomore Tyler Rayman (Ostego, Mich.-Ostego). Playing as an individual will be redshirt freshman Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park).
