YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)
— Eastern Michigan University Gymnastics Head Coach, Katie Minasola, announced the team's 2019 schedule Tuesday, Oct. 16. The campaign is highlighted by five home meets and seven away competitions during the regular season.

Continuing its tradition for the fifth straight season, EMU will travel down Washtenaw Ave. to take part in an exhibition against the University of Michigan, Dec. 2. The exhibition will serve as an opportunity for the team to knock some rust off in a meet-like atmosphere.

Following the exhibition, Eastern has a month off before the 2018 regular season truly begins. The Eagles open on the road with a tough quad meet in Pittsburgh, Pa., Jan. 12, where they will square off against West Virginia, Utah State, and meet-host Pittsburgh. A week after the quad, Eastern begins Mid-American Conference competition with a road bout against Northern Illinois in Dekalb, Ill. Jan. 18.

The Eagles continue their conference schedule with two more MAC matchups following their dual against the Huskies, playing host to Ball State, Jan. 24 in the home opener, before welcoming Bowling Green to the Convocation Center, Jan. 31. EMU has a quick turnaround after its dual meet against the Falcons, hitting the road once again with a non-conference clash against the Flames of Illinois-Chicago, Feb. 3.

A quick trip back to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center, EMU takes on Western Michigan, Feb.8, before spending the next two weeks on the road. The Eagles start off the road swing at the setting of last year's MAC Championships, as they travel back to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to square off against the defending conference champions, Central Michigan, Feb. 15.

A week later the team travels south to Washington, D.C. take on George Washington and Towson in a tri-meet, Feb. 24.

Eastern closes out its non-conference slate when it welcomes the Spartans of Michigan State to Ypsilanti, March 1, for the first time since the 2008 campaign.

Rounding out the regular season, the Eagles make the short trip to Kalamazoo, Mich. to square off against Western Michigan, March 10, before putting a lid on the 2019 regular season with a battle against Kent State in Ypsilanti. Additionally, the senior class and all of their accomplishments will be celebrated during the dual against the Golden Flashes.

The Eagles begin their postseason with the MAC Championships Saturday, March 23, in DeKalb, Ill., where they will look to capture their fourth MAC title. If the team is able to qualify for the NCAA Regionals, the competition would take place Saturday, April 6, in one of six possible locations.
