ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – In her collegiate debut, Eastern Michigan University freshman Abby Livingston (Novi, Mich.-Novi) fired a 78 in the opening round of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, Sept. 24, on the par 72, 6,056 yard Katke-Cousins Golf Course. The Novi, Mich. product posted a identical sides of 39, as the Eagles sit in a tie for fourth-place with Green Bay at 326.
Junior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) is tied for 11th with an 80, while junior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) and freshman Green Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) finished in a tie for 30th with an 84. Sophomore Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) added an 86 and resides in 37th-place headed into the final round.
Playing as individual, junior Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa) is tied for 15th with an 81.
Loyola-Chicago holds down the top spot on the leader board following an first day total of 315. Host Oakland is second at 318 followed by Central Michigan (324), EMU (326), and Green Bay (326).
The teams close out the tournament Tuesday, Sept. 25, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
