The victory was Head Coach Bruce Cunningham's eighth team title since the 2005-06 campaign and the program's first stroke-play win since winning the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, April 10-11, 2010, in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, it was EMU's first season-opening victory since the Cleveland State Invitational, Sept. 11-12, 2006.
