Celone and Eagles Lead Through Two Rounds at EKU Raising Canes Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Ky. (EMUEagles.com) – With two rounds in the books, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team owns a six-stroke lead through day one at the EKU Raising Canes Intercollegiate. Sophomore Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St. Joseph's) holds a share of the lead individually.
Eastern Michigan sits six strokes ahead of host, Eastern Kentucky, while Morehead State is third.
Three Eagles sit inside the top-10, led by Celone. The Long Sault, Ontario native carded a first-round 68 followed by a second-round score of 69. Sitting at three-under, Celone is in a three-way tie for the individual title.
Senior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) led the 93-man field through one round, firing a 67, and sits tied for fourth with a two-round total of 138. Junior Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd) is tied for sixth, one shot behind Breault.
Rounding things out, sophomores Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) and Tyler Rayman (Ostego, Mich.-Ostego) posted 36-hole totals of 144 and 146, respectively.
The final round is slated to get underway tomorrow, Sept. 16, at 9 a.m.
