Each meet spans from Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team takes on the Hillsdale Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich. as well as the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. this weekend Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28.

Redshirt senior Alsu Bogdanova (Kazan, Russia-Lyceum #83) had an exceptional performance in the 3000m steeplechase during the first day of the Penn Relays last season, placing ninth with a time of 10:21.73. Although the mark served as a personal-record at the time, she will be heading into the same event this year with a new personal-record time of 10:11.49, which ranks third in program history.

The Eagles are coming off a weekend which included the Virginia Challenge and Jesse Owens Invitational. Seniors Jasmine Jones (Greensburg, Pa.-Hempfield Area) and Janina Pollatz (Grandville, Mich.-Grand Rapids Christian) each came away with an event title in the Jesse Owens Invitational, with Jones finishing first in the 400m dash and Pollatz standing atop the podium in the pole vault. Additionally, Jones' time of 53.96 and Pollatz's vault of 4.17m both act as personal-records, with Pollatz's also coming in as the third-best vault in program history.

Pollatz returns to competition this weekend, as she takes part in the pole vault at the Gina Relays.

Action at the Hillsdale Gina Relays begins Thursday beginning at 3 p.m. with combined events, which will be followed with the start of running events at 6 p.m. Friday's competition gets kicked off with the finishing of multis at 9 a.m., before the start of field events at noon. The Gina Relays will round out Saturday, beginning with the field events at 10 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m. Fans have the opportunity to follow along via live results, which will be provided as we get closer to the meet, or by watching a live stream by clicking here.

The Penn Relays will also commence Thursday, with field events beginning at 9 a.m. and running events starting at 10 a.m. Day two of the relays also begins at 9 a.m. with both running and field events starting simultaneously.
