– The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team continued its outdoor schedule Friday, March 30, as three Eagles ran in the 10,000m during the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.

Pacing the Green and White was Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge), who finished seventh out of the two sections that went today with a new personal-best time of 29:20.92. Not only did that time best his previous career mark by almost 16 seconds, it also moves him into eighth all-time in EMU laurels, in addition to breaking the former Icelandic record which stood at 29:28.05. He now has run the fastest 10k, 5k, and 3k by an Icelander.

Following Andresson was redshirt senior Nick Raymond (Erie, Mich,-Mason), who also set a new personal-record by crossing the finish line in 29:25.66 for a 12th-place finish. Furthermore, redshirt senior Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium-Stedelijk Lyceum Paardenmarkt Luchthaven) rounded out the Eagles with a time of 30:22.75, placing 31st.

Eastern returns to the track next weekend Friday-Saturday, April 6-7, when they take part in the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
