AUGUSTA, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team returns to action Friday, March 16, at the 3M Augusta Invitational. The event is slated for three rounds of golf across three days on the par 72, 6,248-yard Forest Hills Golf Club course.
This year's field includes Augusta, Central Arkansas, Columbia, Daytona State, Eastern Michigan, ETSU, Georgia, JMU, Memphis, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Troy, and Virginia Tech.
Traveling for the Eagles will be the familiar faces of Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne), Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International), Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval), Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford), Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne), and Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa).
Round one begins on Friday, March 16 with tee times going off holes one and 10 from 9:30 – 11:50 a.m. on the par-72, 6,248-yard course. Round two on Saturday, March 17 is the same format as the first round and round three on Sunday will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will take place following the conclusion of the final round.
Last year, Purdue won the event for the third time in seven years. EMU finished tied for 12th as a team, while Beck shot a team-best 224 (75-73-76) for 18th-place.
