BLUFFTON, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team concluded day one of the Sixth Annual Colleton River Collegiate in fifth-place Monday, March 12, at the par-72, 7,180-yard Colleton River Club. Play was suspended due to darkness with all 12 teams still on the course between holes 12 and 18.
The teams were scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday. The teams will complete those remaining holes tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m. before starting the final round. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
Sophomore Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) posted an opening round 72, while senior Tyler Lewis (Ortonville, Mich.-Brandon-Mott CC) added a 74. Freshman Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) carded a 75 followed by a 78 from junior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) and a 79 from senior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary).
Taking part as an individual, freshman Tyler Rayman (Ostego, Mich.-Ostego) shot an 80.
Iowa State, Rutgers, Miami, and Michigan State are tied atop the leaderboard with a 296 with EMU just three strokes off the pace with a 299.
