BLUFFTON, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team finished eighth at the Colleton River Collegiate Tuesday, March 13, with a 56-over-par 920 (299-318-303). After completing the final few holes of the second round, which was suspended Monday evening due to darkness, the Eagles finished with rounds of 318 and 303.
Iowa State University won the tournament at the par-72, 7,198-yard Colleton River Club with a 16-over-par 880 (296-296-288). The University of Cincinnati and Miami University tied for second at 29-over-par 893, while Michigan State University and Penn State University were locked for fourth place.
Sophomore Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) tied for eighth place at eight-over-par 224 (72-78-74) to lead the Eagles. Sudinsky finished his second round on Tuesday morning with a 78 before rebounding to post a 74.
Senior Tyler Lewis (Ortonville, Mich.-Brandon-Mott CC) added a 229 (74-79-76) in a tie for 25th, while junior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) tied for 52nd with a 236 (78-80-78). Rounding out the lineup, senior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) and freshman Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) added a 237 (79-81-77) and a 239 (75-88-76), respectively.
Taking part as an individual, freshman Tyler Rayman (Ostego, Mich.-Ostego) finished with a 234 (80-82-72).
Eastern Michigan will be back in action March 25-28 at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
