RIO VERDE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Junior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) shot a one-over 73 in the opening round of the 2018 Rio Verde Invitational Friday, Feb. 23, to help the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team sit in fourth place.

Collectively, EMU shot a 20-over-par, 308, in the first round and trail the team leaders, Arkansas-Little Rock by just two strokes.  Akron is in second with a 306 while Seton Hall is third with a 308.

Freshman Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) added an 81 while sophomore Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) finished with an 82.

In her return from injury, junior Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) managed a 75 as an individual to sit in a tie for ninth.
