The Eagles look to capture their 16th indoor and 25th outdoor MAC championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Men's Track and Field Head Coach John Goodridge announced the indoor and outdoor track and field schedules for the 2018-19 season Monday, Nov. 5. The indoor schedule is highlighted by five regular season meets, including the Can-Am Classic, which will be hosted by EMU, Jan. 26. The outdoor season has seven regular season events, four of which will be held out of state.

The indoor campaign begins  with a short trip down Washtenaw Ave. with the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich., Jan. 12. The following week, the Green and White travels north to Saginaw, Mich. for the Doug Hansen Open, Jan. 18.

After not hosting a meet last year, the Eagles return to action inside the Bowen Fieldhouse with the Can-Am Classic, Jan. 26. EMU will then get ready for its only meet outside of Michigan during the indoor season, with the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., hosted by Notre Dame set for Feb. 1-2. Finally, the Green and White closes out its indoor regular season slate at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. Feb. 8.

The postseason begins in Kent, Ohio with Mid-American Conference Championships the following weekend, Feb. 22-23, while the NCAA Championships are located in Birmingham, Ala., March 8-9.

The outdoor schedule puts Eastern out of state for the first two meets. To start, the Eagles travel south to Orlando, Fla. for the Black and Gold Challenge, hosted by Central Florida, March 15-16. Two weeks later, the Eagles suit up for the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. March 29-30.

Coming back to the Mitten the following weekend, April 5-6, the Eagles compete in the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing. The Green and White then takes on a nationally renowned competition it regularly competes in, in the form of the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., April 11-13. After having a breif week off of competition, EMU returns to action with a pair of meets, with separate groups sent to the Hillsdale Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., April 25-27, and the Jesse Owens Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, April 26-27. Closing out the regular-season schedule, the Eagles return to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the Len Paddock Open, May 3.

The MAC Championships will be hosted by Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., May 9-11, with the NCAA East Regional set to take place in Jacksonville, Fla., May 23-25. Finally, the Eagles look to make the trip out to Austin, Texas to compete on the national stage with hopes of bringing home some hardware from the NCAA Championship, June 5-8.
