The Eagles posted a final round 317 for seventh-place with a two-day tally of 627 (310-317). While attending then-Michigan State Normal College, Spork won the Women's District Match Play Championship three times in four years. In 1947, she was the winner of the first-ever National Collegiate Championship held for women's athletics, plus she was the victor of the 1949 Michigan Amateur. In 1959 along with Marilynn Smith, Betty Hicks and Barbara Rotvig, she founded the LPGA's Teaching and Club Professional Division.
The Eagles continue their fall campaign at the MAC Fall Preview, Oct. 14-15, at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The event is being hosted by Central Michigan and will be the same location and course of the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championships, April 19-21.
