Guilleux and Connelly Tied for 13th at MAC Fall Preview

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team posted its lowest two rounds of the fall to kickoff the MAC Fall Preview at par 72, 5,991 yard Purgatory Golf Club Sunday, Oct. 14. EMU posted a 293 in the opening round and followed it up with a 307 to sit in fifth-place with a 36-hole cumulative of 600. The tournament is being held at the site of the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championship.
Senior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) is tied for 13th with an opening day score of 147 (70-77). Guilleux is the only Eagle to have previously played the course, posting a pair of top-20 showings. Then a freshman, she was 15th at the 2016 MAC Championships with a 225 (76-79-70), after finishing tied for 19th at the 2015 Preview with a 230 (78-70-82).
Playing as an individual, junior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) is also tied for 13th-place after rounds of 72 and 75. Freshman Abby Livingston (Novi, Mich.-Novi) resides in 26th with a 151 (76-75), while freshman Green Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) managed a 154 (71-83). Also, taking part in the team score, sophomore Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) added a 155 (76-79) to go along with a 158 (82-76) from junior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford).
Junior Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa) and senior Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) added a 157 (82-75) and a 160 (84-76), respectively, while playing as individuals.
Toledo (574) and Xavier (575) are dueling it out at the top of the leaderboard, 19 shots clear of the rest of the 12-team field. The Musketeers fired the low round of the day, a four-under par 284, in the afternoon to climb within one of the Rockets.
Toledo's Natcha Daengpiem leads the way at seven-under par and will take a four-shot advantage into Monday, Oct. 15, in the race for medalist honors.
