NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Behind the solid play of senior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) and freshman Abby Livingston (Novi, Mich.-Novi), the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished in sixth-place at MAC Fall Preview with a 54-hole mark of 919 (293-307-319) on the par-72 Purgatory Golf Club course, Oct. 15.
Guilleux posted the lowest three round tally of her season with a 226 (70-77-79) to claim a tie for 12th. The top 15 showing was her seventh in 28 career events. Scores were tremendously elevated in the cold weather of the final round. After the course, played to an average score of nearly 76.5 through the first 36 holes, the field's average Monday ballooned to 80.5.
It was a two-team race entering the final day, Xavier (883) held off Toledo (885) for a four-shot victory in the 12-team field. Toledo's Natcha Daengpiem (212) maintained the top spot individually to claim medalist honors by three shots over Central Michigan's Bria Colosky.
Livingston finished inside the top 20 for the second time in her three career starts with a final round 77 to tie for 19th with a 228 (76-75-77). Playing as an individual, junior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) tied for 23rd with a season-low 229 (72-75-82).
