EMU Struggles at Ohio, Falls 3-0 to Bobcats

Eastern was led by sophomore April Houston, who had nine kills
ATHENS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team struggled against Ohio University Saturday, Oct. 27, falling in a convincing sweep at the Ohio Convocation Center.
EMU (14-12, 6-6 MAC) was slow out of the gates and was never able to recover, falling to Ohio (11-14, 6-6 MAC), 14-25, 25-27, 13-25.
No Eagle was able to find double-digits in the kill column, as sophomore April Houston (Minneapolis, Minn.-Southwest) led the team with nine kills and an attack percentage of .263. Redshirt senior Mallory Rajewski (Midland, Mich.-Midland) had a team-best 17 assists, and senior Alyssa LaFace (Allen Park, Mich.-Allen Park) had 11 digs.
Ohio dominated the statistical showdown, finishing with more kills (41 to 30), assists (40 to 29), digs (46 to 43), blocks (8 to 6), service aces (7 to 0), and a higher hitting percentage (.234 to .090) than Eastern.
EMU returns to the Convocation Center for its final two matches of the 2018 season, hosting the University of Toledo Friday, Nov. 2 and Ball State University Saturday, Nov. 3. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.
