CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (EMUEagles.com)- The Eastern Michigan University rowing team launched its 2018-19 season with a 17th-place finish at the 54th annual Head of the Charles Regatta, Sat. Oct 20, in Cambridge, Mass.
"We raced clean, but not with the intensity to really move up the field," noted Head Coach Kemp Savage. "We have work to do in the next couple weeks as we move through our racing schedule."
The Green and White raced in a loaded field, including US Rowing Coaches' No. 8 Yale, No. 15 Syracuse, and No. 20 Louisville. The Eagles finished with a time of 17:50.347, finishing 17th out of 33 boats in the race.
Eastern returns to competition, Oct. 28, as it heads just 69 miles north to face Michigan State University in an exhibition dual. Racing is set to begin at 9 a.m.
