Eastern Picks Back up With Wolverine Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team returns to action Saturday, Jan. 13, as they take part in the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Eagles have the opportunity to be some of the first competitors to perform in the University of Michigan's brand-new world-class Indoor Track Building.

The Eagles look to continue the early success they've built in just the first two meets of the season. Over the course of the last two meets, the Green and White have totaled nine event titles and 21 top-three finishes. Additionally, in the first meet of the season, the GVSU Holiday Open, senior captain Jasmine Jones (Greensburg, Pa.-Hempfield Area) set a new program record in the 300m dash, crossing in 39.17. Most recently, EMU had three student-athletes take first place in their respective events at the BG Open, Dec. 8, with 10 notching personal bests.

The day will start off with the first field event taking place at 11 a.m., which will be followed by the first track event coming around 11:30 a.m. The first track final is scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m. For more information regarding the invitational, click here.
