Eastern Michigan will play 12 home games during the regular season
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Castro announced his team's complete schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season Thursday, Sept. 7. The schedule includes 12 home games and a non-conference trip to Minnesota.
"The MAC continues to be one of the most competitive conferences in the country," Castro said. "We look forward to the challenge and feel our non-conference schedule will prepare us well."
The Eagles open the season at home, Nov. 10, against Florida A&M as part of a doubleheader with the EMU men's basketball team, before welcoming Rochester into the Convocation Center, Monday, Nov. 13.
From there, EMU hits the road for eight straight, beginning with a Nov. 16 contest at Cleveland State. After making the trip to St. Bonaventure, Nov. 18, the Eagles jet to the West Coast for the Loyola Marymount Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 24-25.
The Green and White remain on the road for a showdown with Big Ten Conference foe Minnesota, Dec. 3. The following week, Eastern travels to the Land of Lincoln for games against Illinois-Chicago, Dec. 8, and Illinois State, Dec.10.
After spending more than a month away from Ypsilanti, the Eagles close out the non-conference slate at the Convo versus Longwood, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m.
Eastern Michigan's 18-game conference slate kicks off inside the confines of the Convocation Center, Saturday, Dec. 30, against Kent State. The league schedule is highlighted by a trio of doubleheaders with the EMU men's basketball team.
EMU will play each MAC West Division opponent twice, while squaring off with each East Division foe a single time, with the exception of two cross-divisional opponents. The Eagles double crossovers this season will be against Kent State and Miami, marking the second consecutive season in which the Green and White will square off with the Golden Flashes and RedHawks twice.
The first round of the MAC Tournament is scheduled for Monday, March 5, at campus sites before action shifts to Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, for the final rounds from March 7-10.
