CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team concluded the Golfweek Conference Challenge with a 10th-place finish at the par 72, 7,086-yard Cedar Rapids Country Club course Tuesday, Sept. 19. The Eagles carded a three-round total of 883 (294-291-298) while North Carolina State University claimed the first-place finish with a team total of 847 (274-286-287). Host Iowa grabbed the runner-up by shooting an 849 (283-282-284).
Junior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) paced the Eagles, tying for 22nd overall and shooting a three-round total of 218 (73-68-77). The top-25 finish marks the 11th of Breault's career donning the Green and White. Meanwhile, senior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) tied for 30th carding a 221(73-75-73).
Sophomore Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) fired the team's lowest round of the day with a one-under 71 to finish with a 223 (77-75-71) in 36th. Freshman Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) and senior Tyler Lewis (Ortonville, Mich.-Brandon-Mott CC) added a 224 (71-76-77) and a 234 (81-73-80), respectfully.
NCSU's Benjamin Shipp also captured the top spot at the tournament with a 10-under 206 (68-69-69).
The Eagles will be back in action Sept. 29-Oct. 1 when they head to the Cardinal Intercollegiate in Simpsonville, Ky.
