The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team concluded their time at the Iowa State Classic today, Feb. 11. Eastern only had one mid-distance runner compete, but she had an excellent day, giving EMU four personal-bests throughout the five Eagle runners in the meet.

"It was an indoor personal best for Rebekah and consistent with what she ran last weekend, but she made some tactical errors that hurt her," said Head Coach Sue Parks. "I know that she'll learn from this race and use the experience of competing in a meet like this for the future."

EMU's lone competitor on the day was junior Rebekah Branham (Circleville, Ohio – Circleville), who ran in the 800m run. Branham had a strong performance in the race, turning in a 27th-place finish with a career-best time of 2:12.15. Not only was her mark a personal-best, but it was also the ninth-quickest time in the EMU record books.

Next week, the Eagles return to South Bend, Ind. for the Alex Wilson Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 18. This marks the final regular season indoor meet prior to the Indoor Mid-American Conference Championships, Feb. 24-25.
