The Eagles posted two top-10 finishes
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – Two top-10 finishes highlighted the last day of the fall season for the Eastern Michigan University rowing team Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Head of the Hooch.
Competing in just one race, the Eagles entered four boats into the Open 8+. Squaring off against boats from Alabama, Old Dominion, Dayton, and Texas, Eastern Michigan turned in strong performances. The Eagles' best result came in the form a fifth-place finish by the boat comprised of Eve Melody (Dublin, Ohio-Dublin Jerome), Addison Oblanas (Seattle, Wash.-Seattle Academy), Kelli Sharples (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney), Baylee Kinkade (Portage, Mich.-Portage Central), Amanda Flora (Greenfield, Ind.-Greenfield Central), Sarah Anderson (Cleveland, Ohio-Charles F. Brush), Rebekah Wheeler (Newark,Ohio-Newark), Haley Dutton (West Salem, Wis.-West Salem), and Brie Ritter (Potomac, Md.-Winston Churchill), who turned in a time of 18:18.38. Eastern Michigan's 'B' boat claimed eighth with a mark of 19:02.68, while EMU also took 16th and 18th in the race.
With the fall season complete, the Green and White will return to action against the University of Alabama, Feb. 24, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
