Men's Cross Country Finishes Regular Season Schedule with EMU Fall Classic

The event will be the final meet before the postseason begins
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team caps off its regular season schedule Friday, Oct. 20, as it hosts the annual EMU Fall Classic held at the Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich.
The Eagles are coming off a 22nd-place team finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational, Oct. 13. Led by redshirt senior, Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge), EMU finished with 581 points en route to out-performing five of the nation's top-30 ranked programs.
The EMU Fall Classic pits the Eagles against in-state and Great Lakes Regional foes No. 13 Michigan and No. 15 Michigan State. EMU will use this meet as an opportunity to run some of the more inexperienced student-athletes against nationally ranked talent, as both Michigan and Michigan State rose 12 and two spots, respectively, in the latest national polls released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Oct. 17.
Along with the in-state rivals in Michigan and Michigan State, Toledo serves as the third regional opponent in the field of teams, and the lone Mid-American Conference representative for the men's side. Rounding out the pool of competitors is Cleary, Illinois Tech, Kalamazoo, MSU Running Club, and Schoolcraft.
The women are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., while the men begin their competition at 5 p.m.
