INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) –
On the heels of a phenomenal performance at the Mid-American Conference Championships, Feb. 24-28, in Bowling Green, Ohio, freshman Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) has been selected to compete at the NCAA Division I Championships. The NCAA released the full list of participants, March 2, marking the first time in Eastern Michigan history that freshman has qualified for the national meet.

The Galesburg, Ill. product fueled the Eagles to a second-place finish at the MAC Championships, claiming the conference title in the 100 Breastroke. After setting a career-best and EMU record in prelims, Duncan shattered the school, MAC, and meet record with a first-place finish. Touching in with a time of 59.46, Duncan's time made the NCAA 'B' cut and ultimately earned her a lane in Atlanta, Ga. later this month.

In her first collegiate season, Duncan has been a consistent point-scorer in dual meets for the Green and White. Winning the event seven times this season, the freshman phenom has shaved nearly five seconds off her time over the course of the year. She first tied the school record in the event, Jan. 23, before breaking the mark, Jan. 29, leading up to her first-place finish at the MAC Championships.

Duncan will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the NCAA Championships, March 17-19, as the 14th-seeded swimmer.
