Beau Breault and Joey Kremer tied for seventh heading into final round

NOTRE DAME, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Sophomore Beau Breault (Howell, Mich.-Hartland) and senior Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) are tied for seventh-place headed into the final round of the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic, Oct. 10. Breault fired a 69 on the second day of action on the par 70, 6,713 yard Warren Golf Course to climb the leaderboard, while Kremer managed a 74 as the duo each combined for a 141, eight strokes off the pace set by Notre Dame's Blake Barens.
After leading following the first round, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team fell to fourth with a two-day team tally of 569 (280-289). EMU is however just one stroke behind Illinois State and the host Fighting Irish at 568. UTEP moved to the top of the pack with a 278 for a total of 560 (282-278).
Senior Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) finished Monday with a 75 in a tie for 17th at 143 (68-75) while redshirt senior Jared Multer (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview-Grand Rapids C.C.) improved with a 71 to tie for 22nd with a 144 (73-71). Rounding out the scoring was junior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) with a 151 (74-77) in a tie for 42nd.
The final round will be played Tuesday. Eastern Michigan will go off starting at 9:15 a.m., playing with Ball State and Santa Clara. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
