Scott Takes Eighth at USATF Outdoor Championships

Former Eagle posts the second-farthest outdoor jump of his career

EUGENE, Ore. (EMUEagles.com)--Eastern Michigan University men's track and field standout Donald Scott returned to historic Hayward Field once more for the 2015 outdoor campaign.  The Apopka, Fla. native, who recently finished third in the nation in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships, June 12, made another trip back to TrackTown USA for the USATF Outdoor National Championships, June 28.

Up against the best triple jumpers in the nation at the adult level, Scott was the highest finisher affiliated with a university, placing eighth while donning the Green and White.  He recorded the second-farthest jump of his outdoor career, bounding 16.66 meters/54 feet 8-inches. 

Scott finishes an illustrious field career with the Eagles, as he is the record holder at both the EMU and Mid-American Conference level in the triple jump both indoors and outdoors.  He also came to be a dominant long jumper during his senior season, posting the second-farthest mark indoors and the sixth-farthest outdoor jump in school history.  He is also no stranger to the national scene, collecting First Team All-America honors on three occasiions.
