Men's Track and Field Heads to Columbus for Jesse Owens Track Classic

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team is primed for the annual Jesse Owens Track Classic, hosted by the Ohio State University. The Eagles will make the short trip to Columbus, Ohio to compete Friday and Saturday, May 1-2.
Friday will start off with the discus throw at 2 p.m., with the javelin throw and discus throw beginning at 4:30 p.m. On the track, the 5000m run will be held under the lights at 7:05 p.m., with the showcase section running at 7:50 p.m. The evening will conclude with the 1500m run at 8:30 p.m. and the 3000m steeplechase at 9:05 p.m.
On Saturday, the Eagles will see the pole vault as the first event of the day at 10 a.m., followed by the hammer throw, long jump, high jump, and triple jump. On the track, the 4x100m relay will kick off at 12:05 p.m. with the 110m hurdles, 400m, 100m, 800m, 400m hurdles, 200m, and 4x400m to follow.
