—Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team had two of its athletes compete on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, March 13, capping off their indoor 2014-15 campaigns.

In the 400m, Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio-Findlay) represented EMU as well as the Mid-American Conference. The sophomore was one of just two competitors not from either the Big Ten or Southeastern Conference, the other student-athlete being Christopher Giesting of Notre Dame.  Brown, returning to the track after a brief hiatus, finished 15th in the nation with a time of 47.22 seconds, the second-fastest time of the season for the Findlay, Ohio native.

Also competing on Friday evening was EMU weight throw record holder Anthony Jones (Sandusky, Ohio-Sandusky), who finished 13th in a strong field that had three athletes throw beyond the previous NCAA meet record.  Jones completed his indoor campaign with a throw of 20.48 meters/67 feet 2.50-inches.

Tomorrow, March 14, will feature the nation's No. 2 triple jumper Donald Scott (Apopka, Fla.-Apopka) vying for a national title.  Scott will compete at 7 p.m. ET, and the meet will be broadcast through ESPN.com while live results are available through ncaa.com.
