Dylan Crompton Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

Junior posted three personal records over the weekend
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Mid-American Conference announced Monday, Feb. 23, that Eastern Michigan University's men's swimming and diving team member Dylan Crompton (Redford, Mich.-Thurston) has been named the Swimmer of the Week following his performance at the Michigan First Chance Meet, Feb. 21-22. The award is the first of his career.
Crompton set a trio of personal records en route to three sixth-place finishes against Big Ten competitors Michigan and Purdue at the Michigan First Chance Meet. The junior first posted a time of 21.40 seconds in the 50 free, more than a quarter of a second improvement. He then went on to shave over half a second off his previous personal best in the 200 free, touching in at 1:42.06. Crompton capped off his weekend with his third career mark in two days, touching in at 46.30 in the 100 free.
Eastern will head to Geneva, Ohio to take on the MAC's premier athletes at the 2015 MAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, March 4-7. Wednesday's first races will begin at 7 p.m., while Thursday through Saturday will consist of preliminary heats at 11 a.m. and finals heats at 7 p.m.
