Eagles have one final meet before the MAC Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team is quickly closing in on the 2015 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, and the Eagles have just one more meet to prepare before taking on the conference in hopes of capturing a MAC title.  The Green and White will remain close to Ypsilanti this Saturday, Feb. 21, when it heads to the University of Michigan for the Silverston Invitational.

With a stable mix of fresh faces and seasoned veterans on the squad, Eastern will be making a push for a MAC title at the upcoming conference championship meet, Feb. 27-28.  In addition to the new talent that the Eagles boast on the roster, the roster features multiple MAC champions including the 2014 MAC Indoor MVP Victoria Voronko, pentathlon champion and Most Oustanding Field Performer Sarah Chauchard, First Team All-MAC honorees Iesha Hardiman and Taylor Knoll, and All-MAC Second Team performer Aaliyah McKinney

The Silverston Invitational is named in honor of Harold Silverston, a longtime head track and field timer at U-M.  Silverston held the position under four different head coaches, and was also the head timer for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships when hosted by the Wolverines.

Field events are slated to start at 10:30 a.m., with track events beginning at 12:30 p.m. inside the U-M Indoor Track Building.    Live results will be provided through cfpitiming.com.
