The Green and White Meet served as an early evaluation of the Eagles' squads
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving teams opened their season in Jones Natatorium, Saturday, Oct. 3., at the Green and White Meet. Competing against each other, the White team edged the Green team ever so slightly.
Getting in the pool for competition for the first time this season, the intrasquad meet allowed Head Coach Peter Linn and his staff an opportunity to evaluate their squads heading into the 2015-16 slate. Overall, the returners looked to be in veteran form while the newcomers showed their abilities to make an impact over the course of the season.
The early season tune-up paired well with alumni weekend as more than 30 EMU swimming alumni returned to Jones Natatorium. Of the 30 in attendance, 17 competed alongside the current Eagles at the meet.
With the Green and White Meet behind them, the Eagles turn their focus to their upcoming meets. On the men's side, EMU jumps into the 2015 schedule with a dual against Northwestern University, Thursday, Oct. 15, at Jones Natatorium, which is set for 3 p.m. The women will enjoy three weeks of training before diving into Mid-American Conference competition with a home dual against Miami, Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m.
