EMU Soccer Getting to Know an Eagle: Martha Stevens

The senior midfielder has appeared in all four games this season, making two starts
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – As the Eastern Michigan University soccer team prepares to hit the West Coast for upcoming contests in Oregon, senior Martha Stevens (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-Marian) joins Eagle All-Access for another EMU soccer edition of "Getting to Know an Eagle."
Stevens has started off her senior season by playing in all four games for the Green and White. Moreover, she made two starts and has taken four shots, landing two on goal. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. is still looking for that first goal of the season after scoring three during the 2013 campaign, including the game-winner in the season opener versus Detroit. Also last season, she tallied a personal-best three points against Stetson, scoring a goal as well as dishing out an assist.
Throughout her EMU career, Stevens has appeared in 47 matches to date with 19 of them being in the starting lineup. Along with her play on the pitch, Stevens excels in the classroom as well, earning two Academic All-Mid-American Conference honorable mention accolades.
The Eagles will hit the West Coast, soaring 2,373 miles into Oregon for two matchups against Pacific-12 Conference foes. First, EMU will square off against the University of Oregon, Sept. 5, under the lights of Pape Field for a 7 p.m. local first touch. Wrapping up the excursion, Eastern takes on Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. PDT.
