Eagles appear at three meets across the nation
Hillsdale Gina Relays Complete Schedule of Events

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team will see its athletes compete at three different locales from Thursday to Saturday, April 24-26. The Green and White will send groups of athletes to the 120th running of the Penn Relay Carnival in Philadelphia, Pa. as well as the 2014 Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, while the rest of the squad will remain close to home and compete at the Hillsdale Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich.
Action will kick off at Hillsdale College, when David Papenhagen (White Lake, Mich.-Lakeland), Levi Selvig (Flushing, Mich.-Flushing Community), and Zach Waldron (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Northview) will face the first portion of the grueling two-day slate of the decathlon. The trio of Eagles will compete in the 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400m in rapid succession starting at 3:00 p.m. and will resume Friday, April 25 at 9 a.m. with the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500m run. The Hillsdale Gina Relays will run through Saturday, April 26 with the triple jump, javelin throw, and championship heats of the running events capping off the three-day meet.
Also competing on Thursday evening will be a quintet of distance runners in the Penn Relays. Daryl Smith (Windsor, Ontario-Vincent Massey S.S.) will start things off for the Eagles with the 3000m steeplechase at 7:30 p.m. After a brief break, Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio-Maumee) will take on nearly 100 athletes in the 5000m run at 9:20 p.m. Competition will conclude with a late nightcap for Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium), Harry Dixon (Nelson, New Zealand-Nayland College), and Warren Witchell (Williamston, Mich.-Dansville) in the 10,000m run, slated for a 10:55 p.m. start. The Green and White will also send their perenially competitive 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams as well as a competitor in the 110m hurdles.
