Green and White will compete in Meyo Invitational
Schedule of Events
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team will travel to South Bend, Ind., where the University of Notre Dame will host its annual Meyo Invitational, Feb. 7-8. In addition to the Fighting Irish, who sit atop the week's Great Lakes NCAA regional rankings, the Eagles will face six other insitutions ranked in the top-15 of the weekly regional polls.
Eastern Michigan, who has moved up to the No. 6 spot in the Greak Lakes Region and holds the highest spot in the Mid-American Conference, will look to use the staunch competition in the upcoming week to improve upon marks and prepare for the 2014 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, Feb. 28-Mar. 1. "We need to get our name on the board and show the other MAC schools that we're there to fight for our positions and make our stand," said senior co-captain Kayla Pfund (Shelby Twp., Mich.-Lutheran North (Macomb)).
The meet will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 with the women's pole vault, long jump, and weight throw events. Competition will conclude with the 4x400m relays, starting at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
