Fink Earns His Second MAC Runner of the Week Award of the Season

Junior has been named the Runner of the Week for both performances in 2014
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday, Oct. 7, that Eastern Michigan University men's cross country junior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio-Maumee) has been named the MAC Runner of the Week after his performance at the Notre Dame Invitational, Oct. 3. The award marks the second of Fink's career after he garnered the honor on Sept. 16.
The Maumee, Ohio native had another strong performance at the Notre Dame Invitational Blue Race, taking 25th in a field that was made up entirely of regionally-ranked programs, with 10 teams in the top-30 nationally. Fink was the first MAC competitor to cross the line, finishing 29 spots ahead of Central Michigan's Nate Ghena in 23:49.70.
The Eagles will head back to the Hoosier State for their next meet, when they will head to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational. The meet will serve as a chance for the Eagles to run the same course that will be used at the 2014 NCAA Championships, hosted by Indiana State University. The first race of the day will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
