Women's Cross Country to Host the EMU Fall Classic

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's cross country team has made immense strides in performance during the 2014 campaign, and will compete in one more race before heading to Mount Pleasant, Mich. next week for the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championship. The Eagles will stay at home to host the annual EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 24 in Dexter, Mich.
The Eagles will be up against athletes from Calvin College, Cleary, Kalamazoo College, Michigan, Michigan State, Oakland, Roberts Wesleyan, Saginaw Valley, and Toledo. In addition to multiple EMU alumni competing unattached in the non-scored event, the 5,000-meter race will also feature former EMU and U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame head coach Bob Parks to fire the gun at the beginning of both competitions.
The EMU Fall Classic will be held at Hudson Mills Metro Park, with the women's race beginning at 4 p.m. and the men following shortly after at 4:30 p.m. A $5 parking fee per car will be instituted to any spectators that will be in attendance.
