Women's cross country will compete in the George Dales Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's cross country team will travel to Three Rivers, Mich. to take part in the George Dales Invitational, hosted by Mid-American Conference foe Western Michigan, Friday, Sept. 20.

Expectations are high for the Eagles as they have won the last three George Dales Invitationals, which is named after Western Michigan's famed cross country coach.  Dales will fire the starter pistol for the race.

The squad is looking to improve upon their last meet, in which three runners placed in the top-20 of an 86-competitor field.  The Green and White will aim to close the gap between the top three runners and the rest of the harriers for an improvement in overall team score.  This feat does not seem to be unattainable in the least, as seven out of nine eagles knocked at least 40 seconds off their 5k times from their previous race.

The pistol will fire at 6 p.m. to start off the 6000 meter race.
