Rowing Turns in a Strong Showing at the MACRA Championships

EMU women's rowing team stepped in and will co-hosted the event Saturday, April 27

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagels.com) – After excessive rains forced the Indianapolis Rowing Center to back out of hosting the 2013 Mid-American Collegiate Rowing Association Championships, the Eastern Michigan University women's rowing team stepped in and co-hosted the event Saturday, April 27, at Ford Lake.
After finishing fourth in the Varsity 4 Heat, Eastern Michigan notched it first win of the season in the petite finals. The boat composed of Allison Pecaut (coxswain), Amanda Fross, Tijana Milovanovic, Meghan Knox and LeAnn Dimitroff crossed the finish line in 9:15.10. John Carroll came in second in 9:35.7 while Case (10:07.0) and Northwestern (10:30.0) rounded out the final.
The Varsity 8 boat took second place in the heat with a time of 7:25.8. Eastern Michigan then placed third in the J. Clarke Wray Cup with a mark of 7:29.2.
