Rowers Tie for Fifth at Colonial Athletic Association Championships

FAIRFAX STATION, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's rowing team posted a pair of fifth place finishes from the Varsity Fours and Second Varsity Eights crews and finished with a tie for fifth place with the University of Delaware at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Sunday, May 19, at Sandy Run Regional Park.

Boston University earned the title with 32 total points followed by Northeastern with 29. The Eagles raced against Boston, Buffalo, Drexel and Northeastern on the Occoquan River.

EMU placed fifth in the Varsity Fours race as the team of coxswain Allison Pecaut, Krista Burdick, Dayna Bergman, Kaitie Keys and Becky Dudus rowed to a time of 8:01.1. Northeastern won the race with a time of 7:27.9 followed by Drexel, Boston University, Buffalo and Delaware

In the Second Varsity Eights race, Eastern Michigan's team of coxswain Cady Griffin, Amanda Fross, Tijana Milovanovic, Stacy Cloutier, Sidney Doss, Meghan Knox, LeAnn Dimitroff, Emily Burks and Stephanie Schlosser placed fifth in a time of 7:03.9. Buffalo won the race in 7:03.9 followed by Boston University, Northeastern, Drexel and Delaware.

In the Varsity Eights race, the Eagles placed sixth with a time of 6:54.7 Eastern Michigan's team consisted of coxswain Sarah Hillegonds, Emily Kent, Rachel Morrissey, Taylor Cyr, KC Anderson, Lyndsey Tollas, Hannah Keener, Ashley Gilmore and Lauren Foley. Boston University won the race with a team of 6:33.3 followed by Northeastern, Buffalo, Drexel and Delaware.

For her efforts, Anderson was named to the All-CAA team following the event.
