Hanson Earns All-American Status in 200-Backstroke

The senior finished fourth on the final day of competition
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – For the second year in a row Eastern Michigan University senior Jacob Hanson earned All-American status Saturday, March 30, when he placed in the top-eight at the NCAA Championships.
Hanson took fourth in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:39.87, shattering his own Mid-American Conference record of 1:41.19 from the 2013 MAC Championships. The time earned Hanson First Team All-American status, while Eastern earned a team score of 15, good for 29th overall, defeating schools like Notre Dame and Michigan State.
Hanson completed a phenomenal career after being named Outstanding Swimmer of teh MAC Championships for three consecutive years (2011,12,13) and being a two-time All-American in 2012 and 2013. He also holds the 100-backstroke, 200-backstroke and 200 individual medley MAC records.
