Hendricks and Hulvey Qualify for NCAA Championships in One-Meter Dive

Hendricks won the Zone C Regional with a 587.50, Hulvey took second
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University's men's and women's swimming and diving team had eight members of its diving squad continue their participation at the 2013 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships Friday, March 15.
Kelly Hendricks and Danielle Hulvey were the top of the event as they finished 1-2 in the one-meter dive at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. Hendricks total score of 587.50 earned her a spot at the 2013 NCAA Championships, while Hulvey's 567.50 was good for second and a trip to the NCAA's. Lauren Dark earned a spot in the finals and placed 18th with a total score of 506.60. Melynee Saya just missed the cut for the finals as she placed 19th in the preliminary rounds with a 251.70.
On the men's side, Jeffrey Craig and Andrew Saunders finished ninth and 10th in the three-meter dive, respectively. Craig posted a 743.55, while Saunders took 10th with a 740.85. Dakoda Johnson and Sage Stephens were unable to qualify for the finals round. Johnson posted a 279.95 (33rd place) in the prelims and Stephens put up a 236.40 (47th place).
