Two costly fouls by EMU on three-point shots extended the U-M lead to 63-52 heading into the second media timeout of the half, as the Wolverines went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe.
The Green and White was unable to gain any momentum until Fouty was fouled on a made layup and made her free throw, forcing a timeout on the court. A Sweeney steal and a Watkins fastbreak layup cut the Wolverine lead to 10 before drained her third three of the night to bring Eastern within nine with 6:44 left to play.
The Eagles crept within nine of Michigan with 5:43 on the clock on a Thomas jump shot, but the Wolverine offense proved to be too much as U-M went on a 8-0 run to end the game and hand Eastern its first lost of the 2013-14 campaign.
