Eagles will compete in NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's cross country team will trek to Madison, Wisc. to take part in the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional competition, Friday, Nov. 15.  The Eagles were able to break into the regional rankings last week, as the squad claimed the 15th spot behind Mid-American Conference opponents Miami (8), Toledo (9), and Central Michigan (10).

The distinction of top-ranked school in the Great Lakes Region is held by Michigan State University, which has retained the top-spot throughout the entirety of the 2013 season.  MSU also comes into the week ranked at No. 6 nationally.

The NCAA Regional meets are used to establish competitors in the NCAA Championship race, which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 23.  The Green and White will look to land as many individual spots as possible in Friday's competitive field.

The meet will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin on the Zimmer Championship Course.  The women are scheduled for a 1:15 p.m. start.
