Eagles Look to Repeat at George Dales on Friday

Women's cross country set to defend meet title Friday night at George Dales
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team will be back in action Friday, September 7th, as the Eagles travel cross state to compete in the 2012 George Dales Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University.
The Eagles will be looking to repeat as the champions at the George Dales from 2011.
Eastern is returning to action a week after taking third as a team at the Mel Brodt Invitational hosted by Bowling Green. Eastern finished with 72 team points, just narrowly missing out a second place finish in the team competition.
EMU was led by sophomore Victoria Voronko, who took second overall in the individual competition with a time of 18:23.00. Voronko will look to repeat at the George Dales as she took the individual title a year ago with a time of 21:48.30 in the 6K.
Looking to improve on her performance from a week ago will be Morgan Churchwell. Churchwell took 19th at last week Mel Brodt and will look to have a repeat performance from a year ago at the George Dales where she took second.
The George Dales is set to get underway Friday, September 7 at 5:15 PM at Pine View Golf Club in Three Rivers, Mich.
