Women's Cross Country to Compete Against Tough Field at Bubble Buster

Eagles to go up against four nationally ranked opponents Friday in Toledo.
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University Women's Cross Country team will travel to Toledo on Friday, September 21st to take part in the 2nd Annual Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster hosted by the University of Toledo.
Eastern comes off a bye week following a share of the title at the George Dales Invitational. Sophomore Victoria Voronko took the individual crown turning in a winning time of 24:28, putting her seconds ahead of the second place runner.
Eastern will run against a strong field at the Bubble Buster, which includes host and Mid-American Conference defending champions Toledo. Toledo comes in as ranked third in the Great Lakes Region and 18th in the country, the highest ranking in the programs history.
Other nationally ranked teams that will be competing include #22 Syracuse, #23 San Fransisco and #25 West Virginia. Nine other regionally ranked teams will be running up against the Eagles, with Ohio being the only other MAC and Great Lakes team to compete in the event.
The women's 4K will run at 6:10 following the men's race that is set for 5:10. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the gate.
