Eagles improve to 4-0 on the season

Rochester, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team traveled to Rochester, Mich., Saturday, Nov. 10, to swim against Oakland University. The Eagles swept the top-three spots in four races to defeat the Golden Grizzlies, 171-123.

Lauren Kalinosky, Vanessa Weidner and Irene Llorente took first, second, and third, repectively, in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with Kalinosky winning the race in 1:05.80. Kalinosky and Llorente finished in the same spots for the 200-Yard Breaststroke while Monica Dorszewski took second in the race.

The trio of Briana Emig, Audra Burtch, and Wesley Blassneck swept the 500-Yard Freestyle with Emig turning in the top time of 4:59.73.

Emig also took first in the 1000-Yard Freestyle and 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:06.92 and 1:52.82, respectively, giving her three victories on the day.

Jacquelyn Swartz was victorious in the 100-Yard Butterfly, swimming the race in 56.47.

Jessie Godlewski won the 200-Yard Butterfly with a 2:03.41 time while Swartz's 2:04.69 time was good enough for third. Godlewski also finished runner-up in the 100-Yard Freestyle.

In diving action, Kelly Hendricks won the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 308.70. Karly Taylor, second, and Danielle Hulvey, third, completed the Eagles' top-three sweep in the event.

EMU gets back in the pool Nov. 30-Dec. 1hosting the EMU Invitational at Jonas Natatorium.
